Dressage PEI Summer Show

This past weekend Dressage PEI held its Summer Show at Venture Stables in Freetown. Riders from across the Maritimes came over to compete.

We took Kionus & Whiscalina over Friday evening to give both of them time to settle in. I rode both of them and they're nice and relaxed. Whiscalina is getting more used to going to new places.

Early Saturday morning I had to show Whisca in Training level I and II. My tests went fairly nicely until we had to do our right lead canter. Whisca was playing a bit for buckaroo and had a grant time doing so! In her first test she got 59%. Her second was more relaxed and she got 61%. Other than that, she behaved herself very good and I was pleased with her!

Kionus was excellent this weekend and put in two very nice tests Saturday afternoon. I was pleased with our Fourth Level I test. We got 64%. Our second test went even better and Kionus was even more on my aids. The judge noticed that as well and rewarded us with 70%!!!!!!! in our Fourth Level test II. I was very thrilled with that! I new record for Kionus! We won the high score of the day award with this test. Above you can nice the nice blanket we received!

Unfortunately, history repeated itself again on Sunday. Early this weekend and Saturday night we got 100+ mm of rain. As you can imagine the show ring turned into a pool! Therefore, the show had to be cancelled for the remainder of the weekend.

It was a nice show and I was pleased with my test. Our next show will be in two weeks in Sussex, the New Brunswick Championships!
