Dressage PEI July Show in Crapaud

On July 18-19 Whiscalina and I competed at the Dressage PEI Gold show at the Agriplex in Crapaud. The weather was great, the facilities were great, the show ran very smoothly, and Whiscalina was wonderful! We enjoyed the weekend very much.

On Saturday we competed in Second Level test II and III. In test II we received a score of 69%. In test number III we got a nice score of 72; in this test I received an 8 for rider that will count towards my bar for the national Rider Eight Program.

On Sunday we entered in Second Level test III and IV. Whiscalina was awesome on Sunday and she felt very rideable and on the aid. I was incredibly pleased with her. In both tests we received scores in the 70's and in test III, I received another 8 in the collective marks for rider.

At the end of the day we were awarded with the High Score cooler for High Point Open Rider.

Some of my students also rode in the show and did very well. Ambre rode her Hanovarian Wanja for the first time in First Level and she received scores well within the 60's! Dawn had her mare Eve in training level also received 60's and also broke her personal record! And last but not least, Tia and her lovely pony Cloe had super marks in the walk/trot division and also won Junior High Point award. Well done everyone! It's nice to be working with you and see you all do well at shows.

Whiscalina Shines at CDI Blainville

Week I Whiscalina Wins FEI 5 Year Old Division & Reserve Champion First Level

It was an amazing week at the Blainville Equestrian Park just north of Montreal. For the first time we entered in a CDI competition. Whiscalina scored a solid 7.58 in the FEI 5 year old Preliminary test and won the test! The international panel of judges commented on Whiscalina's correct way of going, excellent submissiveness, and confidence in the rider. On the second day, we improved our score in the final test to a 7.8 and again a first place ribbon. Since I am still hold the Dutch nationality it was an amazing experience to hear the Dutch anthem being played for us on both days.

We also showed in several first level tests in the national show. This was the last time Whiscalina was shown in first level and she did wonderful. Several 70's and high 60's were given to us and we became the First Level Open Reserve Champion.

Week II Whiscalina Wins FEI 5 Year Old Preliminary Test & Champion Second Level

After having a day of rest the second show continued on Tuesday where Whiscalina and I competed in Second Level. Although, we just moved up to this level we scored solid 70's and received first place ribbons.
The CDI show s
tarted on Thursday and Whiscalina continued to be great. We received a 7.6 and once again the Dutch anthem was played in the Blainville Equestrian Park. The international panel of judges commented on how well and correct Whiscalina was trained. It was a very nice compliment for me as well as my wonderful coach Susan Fraser. On day 2, we were missing a bit of spark and ended up with a score of 6.9 and a fourth place.

On Saturday evening we were awarded the Second Level Open Championship! It was Whiscalina's second show in this level but she won the championship with a big lead of more than 6 points.

This trip to Blainville is absolutely unforgettable for many reasons! Show and winning a CDI competition is a major milestone and receiving the wonderful comments from international judges was amazing. Also, winning the second level championship is something I never expected since we just recently started showing this. Whiscalina and I had an indescribable partnership and connection the past two weeks! She is very special! At this moment she is on a well deserved pasture break before we continue to compete at some of the dressage shows throughout the Maritimes.
