Whiscalina Was A Star in Ottawa & Blainville

Our two week trip to Ottawa and Blainville was super. We spent our first week at the Nepean National Equestrian Park in Ottawa. It's a beautiful spot with lots of space. The first few days we took our time to get settled, get comfortable, and do some schooling with Sue. Whiscalina was feeling very well from the moment she came off the trailer and the training with Sue the first few days went well.

The Ottawa Summer Classic officially started on Thursday. We had to show early in the fancy CDI ring to do our FEI Four Year Old Test for three international judges. The test went amazing! Probably more than I could have ever hoped for! The judges certainly liked Whiscalina very much and our test was rewarded with 75% and we won the class! It was such a great feeling and from that moment things just started to flow and Whiscalina put in one great test after another! We broke our record in Ottawa by scoring 88% in a Materiale class. In Ottawa Whiscalina and I also became the Open Training Level Champion! These were the individual test results:

Friday June 20
1 Place FEI Test for Four Year Old Horses 78.6%
1 Place 3/4 Yr Old Materiale Class 88.0%
4 Place Training Test II 62.87%

Saturday June 21
1 Place Training Test III 74.4%
2 Place First Test III 66.29%
1 Place 3/4 Yr Old Materiale Class 77.0%

Sunday June 22
1 Place Training Test IV 72.8%

The next Monday, we travelled to Blainville. The temperatures were very hot, in fact the humidity made it feel like 46 degrees! Whiscalina did very well with the heat and she was a star in Blainville. She was even better and more consistant in Blainville. She was enjoying every minute of this trip and we put in amazing tests. She felt so awesome and relaxed in the tests. We won all of our tests in the Training division and also became the Open Training Level Champion in Blainville.

Whiscalina was just an absolute star the past two weeks. I do truly think she really enjoyed herself. I'm very proud of her, our accomplishments, and the way she handled these big shows. It's just very nice to think about where we started a little more than a year and a half ago: a horse that had never been backed and now we won the championship ribbons in Ottawa & Blainville. It's more than I ever could have asked for but definately dreamed of!

All I can say, our time in Ottawa and Blainville was amazing and unforgetable......
