More Wonderful Show Results with Dutch Comments
It has been a while since I posted but it has been a busy last few weeks with shows and show preparations. Two weekends ago, we were in Crapaud at the Dressage PEI Show. It was a nice show with lots of familiar faces. Whiscalina did excellent and received scores in the 70's, which made her the high point and we received a beautiful blanket. Kionus also came along to that show, we did fourth level and rode the Prix St. George . I was very pleased with him; showing him at that level allowes me to learn lots and gain experience that I can use with Whisca in the show ring. This past weekend, we travelled to Central Nova, Truro for another dressage show. The judge was Lee Tubman from Ontario. This time I only took Whisca along and she put in another bunch of wonderful tests. Although, she was a little hot Saturday morning so quickly settled down in the afternoon and was very rideable. On Saturday we received a beautiful winter blanket for our high score of the day: 69%. On Sunday, however, our tests were even better and we scored 72% in First Level test 3 and 74% in First level test 4. This time we got a very nice summer blanket! ActionPics was at the show to take some nice pictures.
The judge gave us some very nice comments that were actually in Dutch this time! I am sure that Whiscalina's breeder in Holland, the Jansema Family from Nieuw Roden, would be very pleased to hear those. Whisca's breeders check this website on a regular basis to keep in touch with her. I want them to know that she is an absolute dream and I'm sure they are very proud of her accomplishments in Canada! They have certainly done a wonderful job breeding this outstanding dressage horse. It's the goal of every breeder to produce quality show horses and in my opinion they have definately achieved that with Whiscalina! The judge thought the same and told us with his limited Dutch knowledge that: "Het is een goed, mooi, en netjes gereden paard" I thought that was absolutely priceless when I saw that at the bottum of our test sheet!Next weekend we will be on the road to Sussex to compete at the Dressage Championships. So I will hopefully have mor
e stories for you then. Pics of Kionus in the Prix St. George will be up soon too!Pictures by Mark MacDonald
