D&D Stables Dressage Show
A few weekends ago we traveled to Cap Pele New Brunswick for another dressage show. Although, the weather was a bit chilly it cooperate and we got to see the sun! It was a nice show with familiar faces and a friendly environment.Whiscalina went well and I was pleased with my rides. After the clinic with Cindy Ishoy a few weeks ago I was able to get Whisca more on my aids and this really helped in the tests. We rode Second Level Test III and IV on both Saturday and Sunday. Our scores ranged from 67-72%. In one of our tests I received another 8 for the rider scores which will count towards the Dressage Canada Rider Eight program towards the end of the year. Whiscalina won all of her four tests and Second Level high point. We received a nice plain white saddle pad.
Two of my students also showed and did a great job. Tia Tawil had her pony Cloe in the walk trot division and had scores into the 70's and they won the reserve high point walk trot. Ambre Tawil showed Wanja for the second time in first level and also had scores ranges from mid 60's to even a 74% on Sunday! Very nice job for just starting off in first level. Ambre and Wanja won the first level high point award. Great job and it's nice to see their riding improve and see them move up in the levels!
My favorite part of the D&D Stables shows is the supper! The organizing committee puts on an amazing supper with steak, salmon, mussels, PEI Potatoes!!!, and veggies. It's a lot of fun to sit down with your friends in the evening with some great food, laughter, and conversation!
It was a great show and very well organized.
This weekend we will be having lessons with Sue Fraser and prepare ourself for the Dressage Championships which will be held in Sussex on October 4-5. More updates to follow soon!
