2008 Second Level Champion
It was a wonderful weekend at the Princess Louise Park in Sussex New Brunswick. Riders from all across the Maritimes packed the show. Everyone was there to compete at the 2008 Dressage Championships. Judge was Canadian O Judge Elizabeth McMullen.Whiscalina wins Second Level Championship
Whiscalina was in very good shape this weekend and won all four tests she competed in with scores ranging from 68% - 72%. We had four very nice consistent tests without mistakes and also received two more 8's that will count towards our Dressage Canada Rider 8 Award. At the end of the weekend we received the 2008 Second Level Championship. It was a wonderful way to close the 2008 season and our second level year!
Freestyle Gala
On Saturday evening we also competed in the Freestyle Gala and rode a second level freestyle/kur to Simon & Garfunkel music. It was a great evening with many competitors and a huge crowd. The stands were completely filled in the Prince Louise Park. Whiscalina put in a wonderful freestyle which was rewarded by the two judges with a score of 75% and a first place. It was a great evening to promote the sport of dressage and to ride and become comfortable with riding in front of a large audience. Hopefully, I will soon be able to share a video with you of the kur I rode during the Freestyle Gala.
PEI Brings Home More Ribbons
Three of my students traveled also to Sussex this weekend and did a great job showing. Ambre and Tia both
brought home the Reserve Championship awards
in First and walk/trot divisions.
