First Show of the 2009 Season
This past weekend we were on the road to our first show of the 2009 season. The show was in Sussex and organized by Dressage NB. It was a big show that ran from 7AM till supper time both days! Very nice to see the huge interest in dressage!
Whiscalina went well this weekend. This was the first time we showed third level and I was very pleased. On Saturday we showed Third Level test I and received a nice score of 66% and a first place. Our next test was test II; this test went well but I used that test to school Whisca some to make her a little sharper in the ring. We got a score of 62% with a second place.
On Sunday Whisca went wonderful and for just starting third level I could not have been more pleased! The first test went very nice and smooth and the score of 70% certainly reflected this! In test 2 Whisca was a bit more tired but again she worked well for me with a nice score of 68%. Whisca won both tests on Sunday and received the Third Level Championship for the weekend.
It was great to be back in the show ring! Showing certainly requires different skills than just riding at home. So it was a wonderful practice for our upcoming Blainville trip in June.
In two weeks we will be back in the show ring at the Dressage PEI show in Crapaud.
