Blainville 2010
It's been a little while since I last posted but it's been rather busy but of course here is a Blainville 2010 report and pictures! On Monday June 14 we left for Blainville, we had a very smooth trip and made good timing. That same evening we're joined by a few others from the Maritimes. The next day I schooled Whisca lightly to give her an opportunity to stretch her legs and loosen up a bit after a long trip. On Wednesday the work began with a lesson from Cindy Ishoy. It was a good productive lesson. The work continued on Thursday when Whiscalina and I had a lesson from both Cindy and her husband Neil. They gave both gave me a lot of information to process during that lesson but let me tell you it was so valuable and such a great opportunity.
The show began on Friday; classes were very large this year with approximately 30-35 entries in the third level division. The schooling and wamups with Cindy and Neil also continued. As the days went on my horse transformed and I even felt my riding became a lot better. So many little things they taught me about showing and riding a test as well as improving my seat and aids. The show was three days this year and during these three days my tests improved. Whiscalina went well this year and felts a lot more mature and ready. My show results were as follow:
Third Level Test I Friday 66%
Third Level Test I Sunday 69% 2nd place
Third Level Test II Saturday 62%
Third Level Test III Saturday 65.15% 5th place
Third Level Test III Sunday 65.8% 3rd place
Blainville 2010 was a competitive show this year with a very large number of entries and Whisca placed in top 8 in her classes. We received such positive comments from all our judges about the potential of where we can go and Whisca's quality. Those comments meant a lot.
To sum up our 2010 Blainville experience; I received more help, comments, and instruction than one can process in one week. An opportunity I'm very thankful for! It was not always easy but who ever said dressage was easy?! My horse improved by the day and transformed during the week. Since I am home, I've had a chance to process the information and work on it and was it ever worth it. My horse feels good! I'm looking forward to build on this experience and the feeling we have now!
In August we plan to meet up again with Cindy for a dressage camp at the FEC in Canning Nova Scotia.

Sorry for the delay, I will try to update more often ;-)
